In May of 2001, Pastor Messer graduated cum laude from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI with a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies.  He then went on to attend Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN, where he graduated in May of 2005 with a Master of Divinity Degree.  He received his first call into the Office of the Holy Ministry from Peace, was ordained and installed on July 24, 2005, and led Divine Service among us for the first time on July 31, 2005.

Pastor Messer has a deep love for the Word of God and a passion to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will hear him.  He is deeply committed to serving the children of God gathered around Word and Sacrament at Peace.

Prior to pursuing his pastoral studies, Pastor Messer worked as a Machine Repair journeyman at Ford Motor Company in Woodhaven, MI.  He is married to his wife, Lisa, and, together, they have four children - Kelsey, Sarah, Samantha, and Aaron:

Prior to calling Pastor Messer, our congregation was without a full-time pastor for nearly fifteen years.  We have been very blessed by Pastor Messer's faithful service among us, and we pray that the Lord will keep him here for many years to come!

We invite you to join us for Service some time to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed by our pastor.  If you would like to contact Pastor Messer, please feel free to do so by calling (989) 463-5754 or by email at pastor@peacealma.org

"What an absolute blessing it is to serve the children of God here at Peace.  This beloved congregation is filled with some of the most loving, generous, and faithful people I have ever been privileged to meet, and I thank our Lord daily for placing me to serve in their midst" - Pastor Messer
